What make and model of grips are these? (686 round butt)
Can anyone tell me what grips these are and whether/where they might be available? They look rubber and are seen in a fairly recent picture of what was supposedly a NIB gun.
Thanks for any info.

The look like the Uncle Mike's that were on some S&W revolver models when shipped from the factory.
The 696 had them and maybe some Snub Nose 66-4

I think you've got it. Using "Uncle Mike's" as part of the search, I've come across pics of this grip and similar style for square butt models.
So, another neat grip for the K/L frame that's no longer in production?

Yep, I vote for Uncle Mike's too. Very similar to these UM's on my Redhawk.

That's what they are- out of production Uncle Mike's grips.
I have 'em on my older 66 snub.
They would not have come from S&W as factory-installed grips on a new 66.

I should change that to say they would not have come factory-installed on CURRENT 66s.

I have a 66-5 and a 686-3 both 2 1/2" , both came with uncle mikes grips as shown. I just picked up a 65-5 lady smith 3" and another 66-4 2 1/2" and have been looking for two more uncle mikes grips, yep they are out of production now, probably have been for a while. I remember when they were a dime a dozen hanging on a rack in my LGS.
