Welcome aboard from Wyoming.

Internet starting prices for Chiefs Specials have been all over the chart recently. It's often tough to tell what condition a gun is in with pictures, but it's impossible without them. Somebody might be able to suggest a ballpark figure if you'll post a few quality images of your little Chiefs.

Cheers,

Bob

If it's just a turn line and that's about it, and as you described great condition ,which is very subjective as you own it and we don't have pictures, about $375-$400. Sometimes a guy may offer $350, not really an insult, sometimes with nice original grips and 95% or better you may get up to $450. Box and paper work would add a little more.

I paid $600 for one not long ago, but it's a 3" and was like new condition.

$500 or less.

Price is so subjective that folks need to find a realistic range, then decide where in that range they are comfortable at. Everyone is different, but I'm usually always at the low end of the range because I look at guns like the tools they were meant to be. So a range of $300-$500 I would be at the $300 mark. Once closer to $500, then I get into Cobra or Detective Special territory, and my model interest changes.

DFW area: There is one on consignment at the LGS (very good condition but no factory box, etc.) with a $550 price tag and it's been there for a good long while. I would say no more than $450 and it would move.

Hello everyone thanks alot !!! I just left the range fired 50 rounds of 158g through it. My second time reloading it I had a misfire. Ammo was cheap stuff but I purchased it today from the range. That was the only misfire I had thought it might be the ammo but I took a closer look and saw that one of the chambers is hitting lighter than the rest. All of them hit hard except one but all hit on center. Wondering if anyone has any input on what could of been the issue. Man do I love this fun I just want to make sure its as relaible as it should be as I want to carry this. Thanks in advance and have a great day !!

Take it to a gun show, put it on your table and tell people it's the one used in the film, "Fifty Shades Darker" and have pics of Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on the table. You could fake their autographs, too. Price it at $5,000.

Doesn't appeal? Well, as a rough figure good across the USA, I think $400 is a fair figure and would let the gun sell quickly.

Personally, I'd find a fix for the light strikes on that one chamber and keep it. Or sell to buy the same in stainless, Model 60. I never like being without one, preferably a Model 60.

Do let us know what causes the light firing pin strikes on that one chamber. Check to see that no one has shortened the coil mainspring, although I don't see why that'd cause light hits on just one chamber. Is it definitely always that same chamber?

BTW, quit cheaping out. If you test a gun, get good grade ammo. Otherwise, if you have a misfire using cheap reloads or off-brand ammo, you don't know if it was the gun or the ammo that misfired.

Sometimes gun show ammo is less than perfect quality. I've seen reloads that were in factory boxes. First, I'd try the one fail to fire in the same chamber. If it still failed, maybe in another chamber.
Could be the gun, but don't discount the possibility of bad ammo. It happens.

I would not base a handguns reliability on an unknown makers hand-loads.
Factory or your personal hand-loads only.

You've bought a very nice little gun. It deserves factory ammo right at the beginning to see how it performs. I'll repeat myself by suggesting you take the gun to a qualified gunsmith for a professional opinion on the problem.

Is it the same chamber every time? A competent smith should be able to get you going.
