Hey guys I'm new here and I just ordered a performance model 460 magnum with the 14 inch barrel. I was wandering what rings I should get for mounting the scope? I read people are putting 3 rings to help it hold, anyone else done thus to there's? Also what scopes are you guys using?
I have a Leupold VX-3 on my (non PC) 8&3/8" 460.
I mounted it on a Weigand mount with his rings - 4 of them. Why 4? Iirc they were sold in pairs. I do recall reading 3 is OK. I figured 4 is better.
It has held up perfectly with several hundred rounds thru it.
Do you want a variable scope or fixed?
Edit: The 14" PC puts the scope well forward of mine. be sure to check eye-relief.
