what can you tell me about this J frame
picked this up at an auction today for my wife and I'm having trouble finding info on it can someone help us out .Thanks

Pre-lock 37, nickel, with non-original grips. Nothing much else to tell.

The Special Order code indicates it was ready to ship on the 124th day of 1984, or May 3 (a leap year). Cool gun  .

Nice looking pistol. Although Nickel it is actually a Satin or Brushed finish that Smith & Wesson put out for a short time. I bought my son one just like it. Grips look like Altamont's but I could be wrong. Anyway great looking revolver.

Thank-you everyone for your help wife and I love S&W but were not hard core collectors so our knowledge of them isn't as great as it should be .so thanks again it giving us a good idea about it.she loves it and that is the important part.
