Default Old grips on a new 29-10 Classic

I found these at the LGS tent sale yesterday for $25. I couldn’t pass on that!
Just like others have said, I find the factory Altamonts aren’t very functional. Adding a set of vintage smooth targets, not only improves function (fills my hand better), they really make the look of the gun “pop”, IMO.

I bought the new "classic's" in M-24 and M-25, first thing I did was to put the new stocks/grips in the box and replace them with older targets, much better.

Hard to beat the old target "smoothies." They fill the hand, do not abrade under recoil, and look sharp. I have them on a lot of my Smiths by preference.

Smooth target stocks are great. They look good and feel good in your shooting hand. BTW, you really got a great deal if you only paid $25 for those grips. They are easily worth at least five times what you paid in my neck of the woods.

I'll almost take anything BUT the factory Altamonts. Maybe it's because my fingers don't have enough meat on them.
