Found used snubby 69 at LGS!
I'm just getting around to posing this one from a couple of weeks ago due to the recent debacle with photobucket. I had to look for a new image hoster because I refuse to pay $399 for photo hosting! Grrrr!
Believe it or not someone traded in a 2 3/4" model 69 .44 Magnum already! LGS manager and I both said that the previous owner probably chickened out and didn't fire it. It looked unfired. Couldn't resist for $580! As new in box with papers. I'm really impressed with what they did to the detent. The way they moved it to the frame reminds me of a Triple Lock. I fired it with some 240 gr American Eagle that was way loud and my midrange .44 Mag handload that pushes a 240 gr cast LSWC at a chronographed 1000fps from a 4" barrel. It was downright pleasant with the midrange load! That will be it's main diet. I'm still smiling!
Here it is with it's 4 1/4" brother that I bought new:

Weird but when typing in a Quick Reply I'm seeing 3 photos of what looks like a Model 10 in your post.
BUT if I click Post Reply I see the pictures of your new Model 69.
EDIT: Looks like whatever the glitch was it is fixed now. Nice looking gun...

That's it. . .probably the only modern "lock" Smith that I would buy if I saw it out. That is one good looking gun!

Good find and nice pictures!
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well the little gun responds under recoil. I find 2 3/4" recoils less than it's bigger brother. Makes since when you consider velocity is about 100 fps slower with the shorter barrel.
Got back a couple of hours ago from shooting both of mine (4 1/4" and 2 3/4").
Really like these guns.
Paul

Dunno, the 2.75 gave Hickok a good case of flinchitis. And I agree with him, the short barrel kicks HARD with a true 44 magnum load. The 4.25 recoils more like a short barrel N-frame, not exactly comfortable but doesn't whack the nervous system.

OP, good price for a great revolver. Glad you like it.
.
I'm with Paul105, I'm very impressed with how well the snubby 69 handles recoil & it's accuracy. And I'm equally impressed with it's cousin, the snubby 66-8. I'm tickled with both.

BC 38,
I accidentally posted the wrong picture when I first posted this thread. I fixed the picture about a minute or so later. You must have been writing your reply at the exact same that I went in and fixed it!
shocker,
I could see how it could give you a flinch with heavy loads. That's why I think the 69 is at it's best with mid-range .44 magnums, not the heavy stuff.
BLUEDOT37,
I agree with you. I was impressed with how well it handled recoil too. The full power 240 gr JSP American Eagle load was loud but it wasn't that bad, no more than a 4" N frame with heavy loads. I think the lower bore axis helps greatly.
