Wink Buying a New Gun

This may not be the place to post this but around the end of this month I am buying a New Toy and Mother knows except for the price. It will be a Model 627 8shot wheel gun in 357cal. It shoots 38 special as well. Comes with 2 sets of grips Rubber and my favorite ones in wood. Its been my dream gun for many years and I am finally gonna have it. Happiness will be for me on the day that it comes in. Probably the last new gun I may ever buy. Used guns I just sneak into the house when my wife is not around, Works perfect every time.

Enjoy it and be glad you found it and it found you. Shoot the heck out of it and enjoy it every time you pull the trigger!

Thanks BigDog48 thats exactly my plan. Having fondled several of these it will have the 5" target barrel with adj sights and a Gold Bead front sight. The balance is perfect on this model and its a expensive toy but I only plan on being here once. Might as well enjoy it.

I've done that with new ones too. She can't tell one from the other.

My wife stopped complaining when she realized that the things she bought had little to no value in a short amount of time. But my guns always were worth the same or more.

That's fine and dandy sneaking guns in behind the wife's back, I'm as guilty as anyone else, until the need arises for another gun safe. Then what are you going to say?

I really like my 627 Pro. Inspect the gun carefully before you accept it. Most are fine, but I keep seeing reports of canted barrels poor muzzle crowns and poorly cut forcing cones. If it doesn’t pass muster, have the dealer send it back for a replacement. Repeat as necessary. Hopefully won’t be necessary at all, but better to deal with it this way than sending to the factory for service.

If your wife or girlfriend is totally not interested in
guns, particularly handguns, keep it simple.

By that I mean make sure all are black guns with brown handles
or black guns with black handles. Or have all silver guns
with brown handles or silver guns with black handles.

Then whichever gun you have out, it will look the same as
all the others and she'll never know if you have two or two
hundred.

The worst tipoff is to show up with a black gun with a brown
handle right after being seen with a silver gun with a black
handle. Or visa versa, etc. etc.

They do tend to do that rather frequently.

I don't dare show my better half a new gun. She's liable to keep it for herself.

This is genius and I have been doing it for years! A couple of revolvers, a couple of stainless guns and a couple of black ones...somehow, they breed in the safe, and soon a couple and a couple and a couple add up to 20 and no one but me is the wiser

A few years ago,I've worked out a scheme for bringing a new gun in the house.Every time I'd buy one,I'd buy her a jewel;the value of the jewel is not important.''Honey,it's the thought that counts''.And it works!
Qc
P.S.:if anyone sends this post to my wife,I count on most of you guys to avenge me after my wife will have killed me;please hang the culprit by the thumbs untill he screams....and then 30 minutes more!

In my house she is not much interested in guns, but knows every one that I have. She notices EVERYTHING. Even worse, she will look up the price on that new "$300" gun. I can't get away with anything. Good thing is that lately I am a lot more likely to build guns than buy them. I buy the barrels and pretty much make most of the rest from scratch. Sometimes buy the action. So it is not too much of a problem. When we go to Home Depot I make a big deal out of looking at the walnut boards that they have there. $40 for a walnut plank is pretty expensive, but it does look nice. So far she has not introduced the words exhibition grade English walnut rifle blank to Google. $2500 for a board could be a problem.

My wife gave up getting upset when I buy a new (or new to me) gun. This year alone I've bought an 8 3/8 and a 6" model 27's, a nice used sporterized 1903-A3 Springfield and just last time in from the rig I bought myself a S&W SW22 Victory 22 pistol and pretty much all she said was "That's pretty".

Barrie, I know you will enjoy your 627, whatever barrel length you go with. I bought the 4" barrel 627 Pro a couple of years ago and it is a very nice shooting revolver. And 8 shots of 357 Mag shooting without reloading is just neat as heck.

I use the same argument I get when another pair of shoes shows up, "But honey it was on sale!"
