I would recommend the Weigand mount as well and would suggest using blue Loctite on the mounting screws (Note attaching scopes to handgun magnums id the only case I ever recommend using LocTite on gun screws.). As for the scope, you may wish to rethink going with the variable power. I have two of them and love them, but they are on Model 41 .22 barrels. The issue with the variable power is as you increase the power, the eye relief shrinks, forcing you to move your eye closer to the scope. Obviously, with high recoil, this can be an issue. Plus as the power increases, the field of view shrinks. On my .22's none of this is an issue, as they as used to punch holes in paper. Before you buy one, try it out in a store to see how the eye relief changes and see if you can live with that. Otherwise, the 2x fixed power Leupold is an excellent alternative.
