There’s nothing in particular I plan to buy this year.
Of course, opportunities sometimes present themselves that are hard to ignore.
We’ll see.

1. 686 Plus with 3 (prefered) or 4 inch barrel.
2. 1911 - S&W, Ruger, or Kimber
3. Any really good deal on any S&W revolver that I can't walk away from

Was at the range shooting plates with a model 66 with a 4 in barrel. My friend dug out one with a 2 1/2 in barrel. Didn’t know I needed one till I shot his. Now ones on the must have list.

A 5 inch 1911, plain GI model.
Pump action shotgun.
I'll buy one before the years over, these are the last of the "want" list to complete a pretty solid beginners collection.

1) Shield 2.0 9mm, but I'll wait till they offer DarkEarth frame (Black slide of course). Ideally they'll have it as a PerformanceCenter version then.....
2) A planned project: HiPoint 45 carbine and convert it to a bullpup using HTA new conversion system that is coming out... (I don't know why, just wanna)
3) To fund these I should sell my 6" SST 648 no dash that's been tucked away!

For 2018, I think I would like to acquire the following 2 pistols.
1. A nice model 29, -5 or earlier. I like the idea of forged parts instead of MIM for aesthetic reasons as well as the lack of the lock. Either 6, 6 1/2 or 8 3/8" barrel.
2. A 1911 style pistol. I just like the feel of a 1911 in hand; they seem to suit me well for a bottom feeder. It doesn't have to be a super expensive one, just one that is reliable and well built.

I don't expect to ever have a buying frenzy like last year. I bought 9 handguns (I think), 6 of them S&W revolvers. Might get 2 or 3 this year. High on my list is a 2nd 1911, maybe a commander or compact size. Looking at the Springfield Elite Compact, to go with my beloved Range Officer.

I'm looking forward to buying a scandium k22 this year if S&W finally builds one , but I'm sure they won't so a model 18 is next.

Consider one of the Remington 870P's. A couple of my favorites:
870 Police Magnum Model 24899 "High Polish"

870 Police Magnum Model 24903 "Parkerized" 7-Shot

There's only a few things I'm on the lookout for this year. I also had a buying frenzy last year.
A nice 2.5 or 3" 686-4. I saw a really beat up one last month but had to pass. This is #1 on my list. I'd even buy 2 at the same time and never think twice.
A 10.5" Blackhawk 357 maximum. I want to see it in person though, I don't want an auction site gun.
A mint 60-10. Don't have my hopes up for this.
I have a 44 magnum stainless Blackhawk that's on the chopping block. It might be getting traded in if any of these come up locally.

My 29-6 has a forged hammer and trigger so don't count those out just yet. 29-6 was the transition period from square butt to round and the MIM cylinder release. Mine has a square butt and old style release.

Clean flatlatch blue humpback. I don't ask for much, glad for what I've got but a 36 humpy would nice.

New gun 2018
Since I started handloading 45Colt for my buddy I am now looking for a S&W
in 45Colt, preferably 4”. Also the Ruger GP100 Match Champion in .357, just to try something different. Willyboy

Thanks for the tip about the 29-6 models. I will add them to my lookout too.

If you're looking for something in a N frame the older 629s are excellent

After a 20 year dry spell, 2017 saw 4 new handguns follow me home: 45 Shield, LCP II, 638, P229 in 9mm.
IF I buy anything this year, I'm interested in:
- 9mm M&P 2.0 compact,
- Performance Center Pro Series Model 60,
- Model 317 Kit Gun,
- I'm still tempted by the Charter Arms Pitbull in .45acp (no moon clips needed) but I didn't get one last year, and may not in 2018 either - too many 'better' temptations.
I still want a Marlin 1894CSS.
I wish Marlin would reintroduce the 1894 in .357/.38

Nickel would be best, but I'd go for blue or stainless.
Another would be a Model 30-1 in Nickel.[/quote
Gee Cal-- l just sold a 2'' Kit Gun to purchase the 629-4 ... lt was a nice enough little 22... Just didn't quite
measure up to a big ole '44'
This is the Kit Gun l sold Cal... lt almost measured UP in $$$ tho.
. Hard to find a Half Lug ''N''Frame.

I live in California so I can only buy F2F from another California resident -- unless the gun is current production and on the roster.
The one you sold looks very nice.

Maybe the new Ruger PCC BUT it wil have to pass my standards for quality & fit (finish is kind of a moot point) and it will have to fit me perfectly in drop and pull or it becomes a memory.

A K-38 or a 14-2. I've saved most of the money already. Then if the funding is there a 6.5" 29-2.

My grail gun remains a NIB or gently used 8 3/8 inch barrel Model 617 but I can't wrap my brain around the market value for one of those right now. So...since we already have J, K, L, and N frame revolvers in the safe, for the same bucks (or less) I think I'd like to add a Beretta 84 or 85 and a CZ75 Compact to the existing Beretta 92 and the CZ75 B Cold War Comemoritive we already have. I'm relatively new to the world of the semi auto and seem drawn to all metal designs.

Thanks Dave! I was looking at a basic 870 field for a back up or learners gun for clay sports. I have an O/U currently but nothing as a "spare". I have also been keen on a CZ612 Trap pump gun as well. Little more money but I've read a lot of good press on that gun!

I just got what I wanted today, a Glock 26 Gen4. I wanted a double stack to go along with my Shield 9, and the M&P 9c Compact is a little too tall and a little too heavy.

I cannot afford to plan purchases. As a collector, accumulator and shooter, I will go for the best quality for the best price. I just secured another Korth where the price is right.
Looks like a good start in 2018.

I am on the lookout for a 4" 617. I have the 6" and love it but I want to try the shorter one.
The new Ruger 9mm takedown carbine is a must have for 2018, as is the Armscor 1911 22 magnum.

Well in the last month of December 2017 I picked up a S&W 64-1, and a 15-2, but now I'm thinking I want a 3" blued or stainless 44mag to go with my 24-3...maybe one with a non-fluted cylinder....

A M69 so my wife quits trying to take mine. A M25 or M625 in 45 Colt. But most of all, I'd like to get a set of Elk Antler magnas for a j frame rb, k frame sb, and k frame rb for my edc revolvers and a set for my Colt Combat Commander 1911. The price for all of those comes close to a new revolver, so they had to be listed. The M69 will come first since, well, I kinda like my wife.

Over the years I have acquired most of what I think I must have.
That may change at any time.
What I really think I need this year is a good safe. Looking at Liberty brand.

A snubby 5-shot 45 ACP revolver. Am also kinda interested in the 44 Special GP-100 with, I think, a 3” barrel.

I've just put "a hold" on this 686-1 at a dealers up the coast from me. I got to find a time to go up there and inspect it. Priced at $800 AUD, I think it sounds like a good deal.

I want the revolver that raises my score just 2 or 3 points higher in a 40 round IHMSA Field Pistol match. And do it twice in 12 months....
But as the astute Matthew N. noted: "Field Pistol is hard!"

I just hope I can go shooting in 2018. I did not pull a trigger in all of 2017 due to health issues.
I would also like to find a Model 64 in 2", 3" or 4" HB.

Well first I need to find my birth year gun. Sep. 1949. I don't care much what it is as long as it is shootable. I know that's not a word. I'm just saying I don't need a collectable. That's not a word either. Next I want a Victory 22. Then last but not least I want a M69 in 2.75 inch barrel. Santa are you listening. There is always next Christmas.

Last fall, I was looking for a 44 magnum, & a 986. I was open to a 986, and a 29/629. Not having much luck. Ran across a clean 29-3 just before Thanksgiving. Could not win a 986 to save my life! Bid on at least a half dozen. Oh well!
There is 2018. Guess what? Would still like a 9mm S&W revolver. Another 1 that has eluded me is a 2" Model 15. Who knows? Bob

Picking up a 3913 next week.
I kicked off 2018 by dodging a bullet.
During the week I was in the hospital, every gun in my safe became a “grail” gun, so I think I’m good for the year

A great choice. I like snubbys a lot. I want a 649-3 for what I suspect are a lot of the same reasons.

I have my eye on two for 2018. I want a semi auto .22, and a 4" revolver in .22 LR. All of the guns below are for sale here locally at one store, so I have options.
First will hopefully either be this 5 1/2" HB Model 46 from 1963. One of only 500 made.
Or this 5 inch Model 46 from 1959. One of only 1000 made.
Or this model 41...
Next will hopefully either be this model 18-3.
Or this model 53...
Or this model 48...
