I am about to win an auction on a model 13 with a pair of Culina grips on them. I like the looks but I think I may end up switching them out for a set of targets. Anyway, the question is, which version are they, so how much are they worth?

Reason: Oops, misspelt the name.
For finger groove type grips I see a feature they have that keep me from buying Hogue wood grips. And this is just a personal thing as Hogues are beautiful grips. There is less meat behind the trigger guard on the Culina grips making them ride lower in the hand. I can see that right off. If the finger grooves match your hand these will be wonderful grips. The best you could buy, IMO.

How do they compare to sw combat grips, in that measurement

Don't swap them out until you try them! Many of us here swap out S&W targets for Culina targets or combats. They feel better in the hand look awesome too!
Yeah, I would like to know if you have handled them yet too. I have 3 sets of Culina target grips. The newest set came in after I left for work and are waiting for me at the house. All my Culina grips are N frame square butt so far and I haven't seen or handled his combat models.
This is a pic of the ones I have waiting for me to get home in a week. John and Jennifer sent me a picture of them to approve of and I think that they look absolutely beautiful. These are done in Kingwood, BTW.
Won the auction. Going to pick up the revolver in two weeks or so, but in the meantime here are the full pictures.
CONGRATULATIONS, Cardboard killer ! ! ! THAT IS A GREAT LOOKING REVOLVER. IMHO, IT IS ENHANCED BY THAT BEAUTIFUL SET OF GRIPS.....
MASSAD AYOOB IS OF THE OPINION THAT FINGER GROOVED GRIPS, ONLY FIT 10% OF THE SHOOTERS. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM NOT ONE OF THEM. I HAVE SOLD OFF, SEVERAL SETS OF S&W, FACTORY, RB COMBAT GRIPS, THAT DIDN'T EVEN COME CLOSE. I REPLACED ALL OF THE BLACK FINGER GROOVED GRIPS, WITH SMOOTH AHRENDS TACTICAL CONVERSION GRIPS, ON ALL OF MY RB, S&Ws.......
I HAVE HAD MUCH BETTER LUCK WITH S&W FACTORY, SB, COMBATS. I HAVE THEM, AS ISSUED, ON TWO 8 3/8" REVOLVERS, A NO-DASH M617, AND A NO-DASH M686. THEY SEEM TO FIT MY HAND MUCH BETTER, THAN THE RB COMBATS, AND TO RETAIN THE ORIGINALITY OF THOSE REVOLVERS, I HAVE KEPT THEM........
MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO TRY SHOOTING YOUR NEW REVOLVER, WITH THOSE VERY ATTRACTIVE CULINA GRIPS, BEFORE YOU REPLACE THEM. YOU MAY FIND, THAT THEY WORK FOR YOU.........
