Start by adjusting the rear sight to about the middle of its elevation range. Now, to adjust the front sight, press down on the rear of the sight (there are serrations there) and move the thumbwheel to the #1 position. Now adjust the sight using an allen wrench in the #1 hole. Repeat the process for the remaining sight positions.

Silhouette was shot at 50, 100, 150 and 200 yards or meters and this sight allowed you to preset the sights for those distances. The sight was also used on shorter barrel (6") L-frames for use in PPC matches where stages were shot at 7, 15, 25 and 50 yards.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Adios,

What's this "was shot"? There's still some of us still flailing away at steel critters. I currently have two 10 5/8" barreled 29-3s set up for IHMSA. One for 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards to shoot standing Field Pistol category and the other for creedmoor style in the Big Bore Revolver 200m category. (I admit it's not an altogether competitive Big Bore revolver compared to the dominant Freedom Arms BB Revolver entry, but in Field Pistol it definitely holds it's own even against TCs and such.)

Sorry. I guess that since I don't shoot it any more I automatically slip into the past tense.

I was seriously into silhouette from the beginning. I shot in the first match held on the east coast (second in the country) in MA in 1977. IIRC that was won by a gentleman shooting an AMU accurized 1911 with King sights, shooting military match, ball ammo.

I held the third east coast match in Eastern PA at, what was then, Wally Hart's range in Nescopeck, PA. I was Eastern PA IHMSA director for a short while - until I moved to this gulag (NJ).

I shot silhouette until the mid-80's when I discovered IPSC - kind of the polar opposite.

Again, sorry. No slight intended.

Adios,

Pizza Bob
