So, thank you Dawson for making the .100 x .145 Fiber Optic front Sight that pins in just like the OEM HI-VIZ.
The HI-VIZ is ok, but too wide for the rear OEM Sight. The rear notch on my Factory OEM 63-5 is .123 wide & the HI-VIZ front is .125. This is not a good combo for me.
So, now I have a better front sight in that is also able to manually change F/O Rods to different colors (you can't do this on HI-VIZ Sights, because the tubes are coated with plastic)!
Now, I can have some daylight between the rear & front. The shape and placement of the dot is more like a Ed McGivern old style too, where the bead was small and at the top of the sight. If old Ed was still alive, I believe he would put this sight on his 63-5, or 3" 317.
The dimensions on the OEM HI-VIZ are .125 wide and .150 high. The Dimensions on the Dawson is .100 wide and .140 high.
Anyhow, just letting you Folks know that there is a great option now for your 3" barrel 8 shot .22LR Guns.

The only problem with this sight is that the OAL is .56 & the OEM is .80.
I don't know if this is going to cause a problem, or not. Maybe somebody has mounted a partridge style sight on a longer ramp??? Dawson needs to give the full dimensions of the sight, same with X/S and all these sight Companies. None, or only partial dimensions.
I bet it would fit the 5" Model 63 perfectly with it's shorter ramp.

I haven't actually mounted the sight yet. If it is pinned in correctly I will have a small bit of ramp showing on the front & of course more ramp showing on the front because of the OAL of the Dawson being shorter.
The Dawson is actually made for the the 686. The Dawson Website makes no mention of this in the dimensions or info.
Anybody mounted a Partrige style sight that was otherwise ok but too short for the Ramp that its mounted on. I've seen Folks mount the Hi-Viz on the 63-4 & it overhangs the ramp on that gun- looks pretty bad. So, is too short going to work? Thanks!
