Default 686 early models combat grips?

Was curious about who was the manufacture of the factory finger groove combat grips on the 686?
Mine is a 1985 year made and no dash or prefix and a 6
shot.
Also what type of wood were they? walnut , cocobolo?

Curious what you mean by no prefix. Mine is from 1981, my late father bought it new and though a four inch came with target stocks and has a "AAB" prefix serial number.

Not the serial number but the MODEL number inside the swing out, there is no post or prefix numbers, letters or a dash, it just is stamped 686.
I let those round butt factory grips get away from me and would like to replace them and was wonder who made them and what type of wood were they?
