Default Wondering

I bought (locally) a S&W mdl 66-2, 2 1/2" BBL.
I have two other K frame snubbs but both are P&R models. In my mind they're too hard to replace in case of loss. I take 'em to the range though.
Anyway, this -2 snubby is gonna be my EDC.
I have another -2 but w/ a 4 in BBL. The S/N is AUW80XX.
The S/N on the snubby is 238K1XX.
The way the S/N's are arranged kinda threw me.
Can someone please tell me when it was shipped?
Thanks again to all who respond.

Can't say when it shipped, but is was manufactured in '82.

The AUW prefix was used on revolvers in both 1986 and 1987. This is somewhat unusual, since the normal practice was to utilize a serial number prefix for just a couple months.
