Default Phantom Trade Mark ?

Model 10-8 on right side . Full trade mark on left . Maybe this has been covered before but I thought it strange . I know it is hard to see but its there.

Maybe someone has an explanation ?

Obviously the trade mark stamp lightly hit the sideplate. No sense in dumping a sideplate just because...
