Default Model 13-3 3” Beauty

I picked up this Model 13-3 a short while ago after several years of looking for a 3”. Came with the Altamont Ivories which I thought was very nice looking. Girlfriend decided it needed a set of wood combats instead. She may be right! What do you guys think?

Very nice! Still looking for mine. What do you plan to do with it? Carry?

Most of my carry is with a 3” Model 65 but rest assured I already have and will continue to shoot the snot out of the Model 13. While it looks good in the picture, it looks much better slinging lead down range.

I vote for round butt target grips (i.e. Banana grips). My agency carried three inch, round butt Model 13's in the 1980's. We ordered them with the "banana" grips and they were a joy to carry and shoot.

Either set of grips look great but for some strange reason I like magnas a lot.

Nice revolver and nice girl friend. You are quite lucky.

I like the faux Ivory grips myself, but both are nice. The model 13 and the GF both seem like keepers.

For looks I go with the ivory. For practical purposes I go with the wood. I would add T-type grips if I kept the ivory on there, faux or real.

She has already taken a 3” Model 65. Luckily I found me another one. But you are right, this one may be in jeopardy too!

I’m on the combats side. I just picked up a 13-4 with 3” barrel
I’d like some combats for her but might have to have patience for a Culina round to sq conversion in French walnut

Good luck with her
