500 Magnum picture thread
I couldn't find a picture thread for the 500 magnum, so I wanted to start one. If you have a 500 magnum and you love it, please post your pictures! I will start with my two 500 mags. Thanks for looking!

I'm in, if I can attach a pic.
X-series things that I like. I don't like image host sites, I never use them. If I can attach a pic of the X-series things that I like, here on this forum, I will have to become a contributor.
S&W .460, S&W .500, and two Acebeam X65vn.

I’m becoming rather fond of the snubby 500 myself
The little one has a bigger bite on the hand that feeds it... it’s an AirLite 340

I've been considering trading my 4 inch for a 2 inch or 3 inch version. I like that the 2 shortest versions do not have the ports.

Bad photo?? I think you should be pleased with it.
I have the same model 500 but it's not polished like yours and has the factory grip. Love the gun. Don

Mine's an early one from 2003.
A friend made the bison luggage and buckskin stitched belt.

You can call it either a 2" or a 3" barrel as far as I'm concerned.
No ports, just a short barrel. It's a blast.

Several years ago I was asked to take several visiting Japanese businessmen to the range...they had never even seen a real gun before. A friend and I gave them a short basic pistol lesson and then stared them off with .22s, progressed to .38s and 9mms and then pulled "the big gun" out. We were later told it was the highlight of their trip to America...

I can imagine the visitors from Japan got a Big Bang outta that field trip!
Most of the Japanese visitors I have entertained wanted to go to Kentucky Fried Chicken... or a strip joint. Both establishments were considered to be the epitome of “American”. Next time out, I will have to show ‘em what AMERICAN really is
Question is, how many grains...

MY FAMILY OF 500's
Hey Guys,
Here are my 500's wish I would have bought a 500ES and John Ross 500 when they were still available. Yes I know they are still available privately but they are asking way to much.

Nice collection! I think you just need the ES, John Ross, and 10.5" and you will have them all!

Although not 500's, I'm figuring that the occasional 460 would be allowed here too...
460 XVR, 460V and a cute little M60.

I love these 500's... Especially the 2 3/4" and slightly longer barreled versions for defense in bear country!
After a couple screws backed out under recoil from full house .44mags on my 629 I decided that damned lock needed to go! Maybe I was paranoid that the internet rumor of it locking up under heavy recoil had a ring of truth after my yoke and cylinder release screws backed out but I'm happy I did the lock delete. I see these beautiful, useful, and intriguing 500's and say to myself, "If ever a caliber/revolver needed a lock delete it's a .460 & the bad boy 500magnum!" YMMV, and to each his own. Thanks for posting pics of your 500's. I'll have one someday!
