Gun dog T V on the satellite.
I was watching this show last night and it said a dog you would never expect to see working in the field. They were shooting doves in this field and this dog retrieved every bird they got, what kind of a dog was it you ask? A large white standard poodle with the dog groomer hair cut like you would see in a dog show. The dog never missed a bird that was shot. Jeff

Just a dog serving its original purpose. That's the original reason for the puff ball haircuts, to protect the joints in cold water.

I have heard this too. Another plus is your hunting partners will be laughing so hard that they will not be able to shoot......so you get all the birds!

When a rott list to which I belonged for years was still active, in addition to the herding (droving) for which they were originally used, I heard of some folks using rotts for bird dogs! (And yup, this needs to be moved to The Lounge by someone with the power to do so.)
