New 29 Classic 4” on hold
I just put the above on hold at the LGS. I read some good reviews on it here. I do have one question for the members that have it. What grips did you go with to replace the skinny pain-inducing originals?
Thanks,
James

Classsic 29 Grips
Had the gun but traded it. Grips I replaced with the original type, Goncalo Alves target, but shot reloaded 44 Special. For me, recoil was an issue, but I'm 70. When I traded it, I put the Grips that came on it back on. But, I'm still an old fool, THAT, I can't change back!

I run mine with magnas and a t-grip, and it's my favorite gun. That said, I stick to light magnums and shoot very little of the heavy stuff. Mine was also recently reblued by the mothership.

I have replaced my factory Skinny Stocks with older S&W genuine stocks. Did this on my 25-15. It feels so much better to me. Another good option, is Herrett Targets. Feel great to me. (shown on my 28 no dash) Bob

I did the same with the coke style altamont, they were too light in color so I stained them darker and they came out pretty good. I’d post s pic if I knew how lol

Altamont makes some pretty attractive coke style grips, too bad smith doesn’t put them on all their revolvers .

Altamont stocks look pretty nice, but they don't feel right in my hand. I have had a few sets. Bob

I sure don’t like the ones that came with the gun but their coke bottle grips I think are pretty close to the original target style grips in size.
