2 visitors at the house this weekend
A guy I work with, was cleaning out his dads house getting it ready to sell, when he discovered that the man had guns stashed all over the place, and he's bringing them to me to clean for him. Most of them look like they've been sitting in the same spot for several years and have rust in various places.
I've already cleaned and returned the Kel-Tec P3AT .380 that he found and now I have these 2 little gems. Both are S&W..........a 38 SPL. and a 32 S&W Long. These 2 are going to require a bit of extra work on my part because, there's rust on the hammers and on the frame, inside where the cylinder sits.

Nice. I love the heavy barrel 10 with the brown Rodgers/Safariland grips. I have those same grips on my 10-8.

Got them both cleaned up and ready to go. Now, I'm wishing I had some 32 longs so I could do some test firing. I've got 38 SPL all day long but, no 32's.

Glad you got to spend some time with them. Any chance you can obtain one or both?

Oh, I'm sure he'd sell both of them to me for the right price. I just don't have the funds at this time and won't for awhile. I just spent over 4 grand on dental work that I'll be paying back for the next couple of years. Once my insurance reimbursement comes in it'll knock some of that off but still................
I'm not sure what I'd do with the 32 though. None of the local shops even carry that ammo........it's pretty uncommon around here.

To fully enjoy the 32, you should definitely consider reloading. The 32 S&W Long uses a tiny amount of lead and a dash of powder. The primer is the same as any small pistol, so that’s a fixed cost of course, leaving only the challenge of finding sufficient brass. I save brass from the small amount of factory ammo I buy plus pick up whatever once-fired stuff I can find at gun shows, etc. Once you get going, it’s surprisingly easy to keep your 32 fed and pretty cheap too.

Green Frog is right on and it is surprising or was to me what a 32 can be made to do in a good strong revolver .You can use the scarce ammo thing to get the price "right"for you .Like I always say "if ya can't take advantage of your friends and family what good are they to you".

I was very surprised a while back to find factory new ammo (not reloads) for the .32 Long at the local Bass Pro Shops.
Don't have a .32 Long but was perusing the ammo isle. Found it strange that BP has S&W .460 and .500 Mag revolvers for sale but no ammo for them and ammo for the .32 Long and no revolvers to buy with which to shoot it.
I understand the .32 ammo being available for the benefit of customers but not the lack of ammo for the big boys.
Yes, if you found some suitable slugs, reloading for the .32 would be easy and inexpensive. Don

Got some 32 from Aguila and parvi not too long ago. Believe I ordered from sportsman’s guide.
