Default So here is my "new" 25-5

Picked it up today so here are the photos of my new bullet launcher as promised. I originally thought this was a 25-6 and it was marked as such but looking at the marking under the yoke very carefully with good light and magnification it is in fact a 25-5, S# N9396xx. Very basic gun, 4", target trigger, target hammer, white outline red front sites. Good and tight. Tried to drop a .45 .451 diameter bullet thru the chambers, it hung up at more or less the same position on all six holes and hung up about half way into the forcing cone so I am guessing the chamber mouths are in the ballpark of correct. (Some day I am going to have to get some plug gauges.) Obviously not original grips but they look decent and feel quite good. This pretty much rounds out my N frame collection so I am quite pleased. I will be more pleased if it shoots well but I won't know that until next week. With luck the photos will post correctly. (Sorry for the mediocre photos.)

Beautiful piece , if it shoots half as good as it looks then I’m sure you’ll be very happy.

Congratulations on your 25! I would love to own a 25-7 (who wouldn't?)
My wanna be is a 25-15. I enjoy it anyway! Bob

Default 25-5

I have one I bought back in the 80s. I had it black chromed by Marker Machine Works (now closed due to retirement of owner).

I carried it on duty until I got permission o carry my 1911. It never failed to get a bad guys attention when I pointed it at them. I still have it and it is one the most accurate pistols I own. First time I fired it it put 5 rounds inside an inch at 25 yards. (Back in the days my eyes & arms were good enough to do it!).

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

If that’s your “very basic” revolver I wonder what a really nice one would be?

Congratulations on your new .45. Looks great to me!

Nice gun, on my wish list. I stopped at a small gun shop today, they had a 25-5 with 6' barrel. Price was $1200, seemed a little steep. Maybe I should go back and try to negotiate.

robertrwalsh, congratulations on your 25-5. I'm sure you are going to love it. I too newly acquired a Model 25-5 just last month (April 2018) and I love mine. Shoots great and is accurate. And like yours, not hard on the eyes either.

Thanks for looking at my Model 25.

God bless,
Birdgun
