**please close** 2 -Model 60 no dash
Hello all! I have 2 model 60 no dash 1-3” and 1-2” and the 3” seems unusual in that it is a no lock, full lug and serial#BPY13xx. Both are in excellent condition with box and docs. The 3” has a target hammer from factory and a model#SAPY1319. The 2” serial is ADJ55xx. I assume these are post 1980 and am wondering if some fine folks could help me identify and value these fine wheelguns. BOTH ARE .38 thank you!

Are you sure the 3" one is not a 60-4?
Open the cylinder the model is stamped on the frame there.
1996 was when the 60-4 came out.
Both are excellent examples of the S&W 'J' frame in the best caliber 38SPL.

Nice pair! Now you need a model 36 and a model 36-6 to have a really nice set!

Would of shipped in...... October - December of 1993.
The gun is a -4, whether marked that way, or not. The proper product code is 102298 (it's on the box label). That other number you wrote, if you look again, is just a misread version of the s/n with an "S" in front.

This gun left the factory in Springfield, Mass., in.... March - April of 1984.
It's a product code 102302 if round butt, 102303 if square.

Thank you for the info so far!! I’m posting pics of the box labels because the 3” one may be a special order. Thoughts? Also if anyone has a value idea on these I would really appreciate it. These are from a late shop owner and are going to be for sale although I may have to “adopt” them for my collection lol. Want to be fair to the family!

Before further comment, I'll wait to see the label.

After seeing the label they are pretty much what I said in my initial post. The date code on the 3-inch gun is..... October 20, 1993
The product code is 102298. Most certainly a -4. Stocks are factory Uncle Mike combat stocks (CS). Hammer and trigger hard chromed carbon steel. Not a Special. Exactly like all the other -4's of that era. A really great gun, IMO.
Date code on the 2-inch gun is..... May 2, 1984.
Product code 102302. Factory wood Magna service stocks. Integral front sight. Hard chromed hammer and trigger. A nice little standard production snubby.

The old hand written labels included the engineering change level (dash number), but S&W stopped putting the dash # on labels when they transitioned to computer printing. As stated above, look in the frame cut for the change level.

Prices vary by location and venue, but I’d value the pair between $1000 and $1100. If they were presented to me, I’d start by offering $900.

Thank you all for the help on this! Based on their flawless condition in box I’m going to post them at the higher end. I was considering keeping them but I really have my eye on the recently released model 19 comp! Shoot straight folks, thanks again!
