Default Ball detent lockup stronger? 686 ssr or model 66 4 inch

I am looking at the 4 inch barreled model 66 l, but the ball detent lockup on the short barreled version locks into the crane. The 4 inch "locks" into a v notch on the bottom of the frame. Is this strong enough to warrant buying it, or going with a 686 ssr.

The ball detent lockup is as strong as it needs to be.

Very popular with the conversion gunsmiths starting back in the late seventies or early eighties it was commonly used when a short barrel was paired with a full length ejector rod and no room was left at the muzzle end for the more traditional style lockup.

The detent lockup should not be the deciding factor of which firearm you choose.
