Default New springs for my 686+ trigger

So if I can't play with something new by changing it I dunno what I'd do so I went and bought a Wilson Spring Kit for my 686+ trigger and installed it today. I did this because I've been thinking that out of the box my particular 686 was a bit stiff in the trigger compared to others at the range.

I honestly can't say how much a difference it made! If there's something smoother than butter, this is it. Double action is unbelievably light and smooth, and I used the 14 pound trigger reset spring (heaviest in the package).

Picture taken today before I changed the springs. Target is at 25 feet.

Hope this was of interest.

Best to all and Happy Father's Day -

Rich

The 14# spring you reference is the rebound spring and has nothing to do with light strikes and misfires. It is the spring that resets the trigger. The mainspring, that you also replaced is the culprit for light strikes.

Nice shooting.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Pizza Bob, you are correct of course. Thanks for that. In my excitement and fun today, I am really at a loss for words about how damn nice my 686+ is now - and I thought it couldn't get any better.

I just bought this same pistol (as well as a 460!) and plan to upgrade the springs as well. Also have the lock delete kit coming.
I shot it already and really liked it but know it can be better.

Is the Wilson spring kit that same as the one Brownells sells?

I don't know if they are the same. I was going to purchase a set from Wolff but a friend bought me a set from Wilson.
