"I Mean Business!" - a 3" 13-2 Engraved to Carry
Some of you know that I love engraved 357s. However, most of my engraved guns fall into the pre 1980 forums and have become safe queens. However, this post 1980 357 is a serious "business gun" that I commissioned to be engraved by Phil Quigley. He and I talked concept and that I DO intend to carry this gun and therefore, I wanted an engraving pattern that would "silver" nicely as it was pulled in and out of a holster. I could not be more happy with what he delivered...
It is a recessed, but not pinned 13-2. I'd love to know what you think.

I think it's a fine looking revolver, all business!! 
You're going to need leather to match the gun.
Maybe a holster and a belt.
A revolver that is customized by it's owner is rare these days and that's a shame. A guy will drop in a trigger in a Glock and call it custom.
I hope you carry and shoot it enough to wear it smooth on the high spots!

Some say you shouldn’t carry a nice gun in case you lose it to an evidence locker after a defensive use. I disagree, I like to enjoy a fine carry piece. I can’t imagine a gun I’d rather carry than this one. This a highly tasteful work, and I hope you enjoy carrying it. Once you have an equally exquisite holster, please post photos of the rig. Thanks for sharing.

What a great concept, and perfectly executed. Carry it daily, and show us how it ages!!
In olden days, gentlemen carried beautifully engraved and adorned swords, pistols and othe personal weapons. What a great idea to return to those gracious days of old!!

I don't own an engraved revolver or pistol and normally not interested in owning one. However yours is beautiful and the engraving looks functional (does that make sense?) anyway I love everything about it and would carry it in a heartbeat. Love the Combats.

Have a buddy who is currently searching for an engraved Model 60 J-frame to carry..... at first I was like "wow!!"...... then I realized I often carry a PC Shorty 9........
As Les.b said above men have been personalizing their weapons since the "stone age"....... why should we do any less in this...... "plastic age"
Pride in ownership is not a crime ...... or a sin IMHO!!!!!
RK.... how long did it take to get that done? I've got 3 3" 66s.....makes me go Hummmmmm...... a prefect retirement gift????????????????

Me too; on both points...... on that gun I'd have kept the full hammer... even though my 3" 65 has the DOA hammer.....I'd have kept it classic.

I like the chopped hammer, seems to go good with the no rear sights. As a carry gun that's what I would want, no hang ups when drawing.

Engraving is beautiful.
An expertly engraved carry gun stands up to wear, and can actually be enhanced by it. Wish I had one!

Before I got it engraved, the gun spent time at Nelson Fords getting a trigger tune up. It has a very smooth double action trigger pull and I love the way it feels.
There was a time that I would have agreed with you two on the bobbed hammer, and if I ever swing back to that way of thinking, hammers are a pretty easy thing to swap out.

I think that Phil is telling folks that it will be a little over a year to get something done... But call him and he will be able to give you a good estimate...

Magnificent! I'm afraid I'd be pulling it out to admire every time I got to my desk, or met someone I wanted to show it to. There's just so much "goodness" to look at. And it's got to be lighter now, with all of the ugly parts removed. Who knew all of that beauty that was under there? I am truly envious!

I'm not much for engraving a 'using' gun, but if I were, that'n would be my pick! And, I'm for 'bobbed'hammers, too.

If it were shorter you would be giving up a full length ejector rod.
Look at any of the 2 1/2" Model 19/66/586/686 revolvers and you will see the rod is quite noticeably shorter than the 3" guns

I wouldn't think twice about carrying an engraved gun, I don't have any guns that aren't collectable, so yes, I'd carry it anywhere.

It's a beautiful gun but I would never consider carrying it. In most places, should you have to use a gun to defend yourself - to the extent you have to shoot someone - the police will confiscate the gun for evidence, and I've heard some real horror stories about their condition when (if) returned. I'm a firm believer in reliability of a carry gun, and won't cheap out in that regard, but I'd not pay the extra for engraving on the off chance the gun ending up in the evidence lockup.

You sir, certainly have a certain sense of style. I consider the 3” 13 / 65 to be the epitome of a duty / carry revolver. I will admit I am somewhat biased on that subject having carried & shot 65’s since the 70’s.
P. Quigley’s craftsmanship is world class. Always impressive, works of art in metalworking.
IMO a perfect blend of a pragmatic approach to a defensive sidearm, enhanced with a one of a kind embellishment to suit your particular taste.
