Default Looking for info on Model 629-4

Hopefully I've provided enough info to make the ID process as painless as possible.

I'm looking for as much info as can be provided on a Performance Center .44 mag.

Caliber .44 mag
Model # 629-4
Serial # CMH01XX
Barrel Length [near as I can figure] 5 11/16 (7 5/16 with comp)
Sights Adjustable

There is an integral rail along the top. The barrel is ported/comped and the pistol is a complete and total mystery that's been in the family for a few years.

Thanks in advance for any help you folks can provide. Hopefully the images load correctly.

Many consider the -4 to be the best variant of the 629. Performance Center is a plus. That is a desirable gun.

They're nice guns but hard to sell, unfortunately, unlike the bigger 629-3/-4/-5 Lew Horton Hunter PC models. So there's not much collector value in that model.

Product code 170100, came in both -4 and -5 frames and I believe 300 were made. Value is around $1200-1400 complete with case/docs (less for bare gun). And even then it might sit for a while with a reserve or starting bid around that number as there just isn't much demand for them.

The 170100 was called the Compted Hunter, had a 6.5-inch nominal barrel, and were sold by the distributor RSR.
