Default 686+ cylider swap

Hello
I have a 686+ 3" TALO edition that I love. I prefer 7 rounds for carry, and range trips. I do also have a 8" 686. To use the 3" in IDPA I need 6 shots. Tychnically to swap the cylinders between the guns, I just need to swap the cylinders and the hands internally, or is there more to it?

Then you just leave one chamber empty. Seems less work than swapping cylinders/internals every-time between IDPA and Range trips/carry.
