Default PC question

How can I tell if a gun is a true Performance Center model? I am considering a 586-6 the seller states is a PC gun. My new 686 Plus has "Performance Center" on the slab side.

It should have the P.C. crest on one side or the other. All my PC guns do, even my 845 which is one of the earliest from them.

If it is not marked Performance Center it is not. However first look for the round S&W logo with the words Performance Center. That is legit.

I see there is a run of 586-6 L Comp it is not mention as PC but I would be surprised if it was not Performance Center.

Photos would tell the story. It might be an unrecorded (in SCSW) PC gun.

Get those photos for us.

There is a current PC 586-7 3" L Comp. Great shooter, I have one.

$875 - $950 would be a fair price.

..as already stated by other members, if it's a PC gun it will have this logo stamped on it.

Oops. PC is sometimes also used to refer to "Plain Clothes" -- the kind of square frame magna stocks that are rounded at the bottom so that they are not snaggy on the linings of clothes. I wonder how many people I've confused and annoyed when I use the abbreviation that way.
