I believe that you are thinking about the differences between the Model 327 TRR8 and the Model 327 M&P R8

Smile S&W Md.325 TR Question

I recently purchased a 325 TR PC revolver and was researching it's history.
I Goggled the revolver and noticed 2 hits came up. Both showed 325's what appears to be identical to my 325. They articles or ads showed code 180356. Can't tell the date when the ads came out. Can't tell if the accessory rail was permanent or removable. The revolvers showed PC stamping. I've too search S&W books etc and found no such reference to code 180356. The only reference I can find is the code 170316 which is the present code listing. Strange that 2 different shops showed code 180356 at one time. I just got to know....Maybe the serial number prefix was different or their was a change internally or the pins were not titanium. My prefix is TRD (Thunder Ranch Defense) or so what I was told. I have the fired case in the envelope which is dated 01-28-08. My revolver has a serial number just over 0200. According to S&W the 325 began shipping in 2007. I found no reference to this. Anyone have one shipped in 2007? So, if I do have an early revolver the code 180356 must have a short production run. I sent a email to S&W to see if they could shed some light on this. Thanks to everyone for reading my POST.
