Default 25-5 redo

Gentlemen I lurk here but seldom post. I'm excited about what came on the brown truck and wanted to share. Bangor era 25-5 that someone sent to Andy Horvath to have a 41 mag cylinder properly fitted and timed. When I got the gun it had a .003 bc gap. I sent it to Lou Rosso. Mechanically the gun was sound but appearance wise "shooter grade" was probably being kind. It's a Bangor era gun prime for Lou's passion which is refinishing. The gun was completely disassembled, stripped and then made straight. As has been shown before what looks straight may not be. This was a very not straight gun. By the time the sideplate was made flat more than half the logo was gone. The new large logo is engraved, not stamped. Lou does not use wheels, he likes sharp, straight lines. This and my Harton 45 are prime examples of his ability. The front sight and crown looked like they'd opened a few beers in their day. A little welding (LITTLE) and they stoned back nice. New fabricated front sight, I supplied a new screw for the rear which cost me a rear sight! He reshaped the grips which Gene Beal fitted to a 629 that went down the road but after the Kenyan muslim decided to save the world I didn't let these go anywhere. They fit a lot better than they did before. Appearance items include both emblems new, straighten all lines, flatten all flats, polish, blue, re-CCH hammer and trigger, reshape grips, fabricate new front sight, weld up gouges on front end. Mechanics were simply removing end shake and lateral play he felt was there. Tight? Yes. Action? Wow. After having gone to the Randall museum, please forgive the prop stick. Last picture is the Harton 45 he finished after Alan Harton was done. The ivory on that gun was shipped as two slabs of ivory that looked like really big dominoes. His talent speaks for itself. Please don't bash me for the SA or the redo.

With the dimming light the camera didn't want to focus. Again, this isn't stamped. He knows a guy..

Very nice. No bashing on the refinish. You said “shooter” was being generous and it ain’t like 4” 25-5’s are rare guns.
You done it a favor. like the single action too
