Question 325 night guard 45 acp, m& p r8

Hi. Im new to this site so forgive any mistakes! I recently purchased my first firearm in about 20 years. I walked into a gun store and saw this beautiful 325 nightguard and I just had to have it so after about a week of thought I decided to purchase. Now that I've been reading more about it online, I am seeing people say that this gun is kind of rare to find. Was wondering if this is a true statement and if so, why? I just happened to stumble upon it but have looked all over the internet and can't find even one for sale. Anyway, I also just found a great deal on an M&P R8 and have that coming soon! Can't wait for that one!

Default Night Guards

Congrats on your new find. The Night Guard series is one of my favorite.

All the NG's are relatively rare as they were only made for a few years & in limited quantities. Pricing is commonly suggested as the reason for their short production run. (See MSRP below.)

The 325NG was one of the original six introduced in 2008 & it's my belief it's likely the most common of the NGs made.

I replaced the (dead) front night sight with a red ramp & swapped out the C&S fixed rear for an adjustable on my 325NG (which I've also done to my 357NG now).

My 325NG shoots 45ACP rounds reliably individually loaded (though I would not suggest doing so for SD use) as well as with metal or polyster moon clips. I mainly shoot handloaded 45 AR (Auto Rims) in my 45ACP revolvers though.

Some have benefitted from an extra length firing pin (C&S or Apex), as mine did.

I also shoot 45 Super power handloads in it either using Starline 45 Super brass or Starline 45 AR, both of equal strenght.

Hope you enjoy your's.
