Unfired Nickel 29-3 in walnut box
I picked up a beautiful unfired nickel 29-3 in a walnut box. Is the box a factory option? The big 29 is a “N” S/N revolver.

I have a 29-3, but it is a different flavor. No box or extras either. Good looking gun you have there! Bob

When I first got into gun collecting in the 1970s, many models of S&W revolvers came in wooden presentation boxes instead of the cardboard ones that have followed. If I'm not mistaken (and could well be), most N-frame models came in them.

Great looking piece. I'm thinking about buying a new 29, so I checked with my online source I have used before, and they confirmed it does come with the wood box. I keep reading these new 29's aren't as good as the old, or as strong as the Rugers, so I'm still undecided.
