Default Knuckle-bustin’ Model 36.....

Now I remember why I like the Hogue grips for plinking...
However, the Magnas look much better...
I had a Model 37 that did the same thing... OUCH!!!....

I put Hogues on everything that gets any amount of range time. Haven't seen a set of combats in ages around these parts, and targets beat the hell out of my hands ( especially the middle finger middle knuckle).

I generally prefer hardwoods over rubbers.

A previously injured hand makes it a must for me to use the rubber grips on my carry guns. Hogue Tamers and a Pachmayr Compact are for Range use and the Boot Grips are for pocket carry and limited range use.

The smaller of your grips pictured in the second level are what I have on my 36 great grips and love them. Beats the old style bananna grips. Gonna get a set of Houge grips for my Brazilian N frame revolver. Issue grips to darn small, N frame targets too big. If the present grips I have on my Brazilian weren't so expensive I'd alter them to actually fit my hand. Frank

I broke the middle finger of my right hand when I was a kid . Anything with the least amount of recoil is painful if the gap behind the trigger guard is not filled.

I love the look of the Magnas, Combat, and Target, but all my shooters wear aftermarket. The wood Houge's are on most. Altamount also make some nice wood that fills that gap.

Welcome aboard from Wyoming.

That's a nice looking Chiefs.

I've found any grip that pushes my middle knuckle below the trigger guard is a safe bet for me. I prefer wood to rubber so I've tried a variety. I like them all: (in the order of the photos) S&W Combats, Altamont Combats, Craig Spegel full size (they'll also fit my square butt Chiefs), and Craig Spegel boot grips on my Baby Chiefs.

I like the looks of the Tyler T-Grip extenders, but for shooting they don't push that middle knuckle down quite far enough.
