Does this type of serial number look normal?
It is on a 65LS.

Yes, these were applied with (I think) a laser engraving process for a few years. Quite a contrast from the nice clear traditional model stamping.

Looked fake to me.

I don't think that was part of the laser engraved models. Laser engraving is very clear, the beef with that was that it wasn't very deep and could be easily modified. This was from a period where they were using some kind of dot-matrix imprinting machine. It, too, didn't last long.

To the OP - perfectly normal.
