Default HOLSTER 629-4 Mountain Gun

Hey guys... I just got my first Smith a 629-4 Mountain Gun. I want to get a good leather holster and want to know what y'all think. I want leather strong side and it HAS to have a thumb break. I will mainly use this as a woods gun but may need to conceal some times with a flannel style shirt or light jacket. Wanting to stay under $150 if at all possible. Also I do not like the simply rugged rigs.

I've had good luck with Bianchi. The 5BHL and the 111 Cyclone. The cyclone serves a dual role as it can be worn either strong side or crossdraw. Both will be under your price point.

There are a number of outstanding holster makers on this forum. Do a search and get one of them to make one for you.

For my MG I use a $15 Blackhawk Nylon holster from Walmart..

Carries nice on my walks in the forest. I've tried a few leather holsters and was always annoyed by the way they hang. Plus I'm cheap.

Default HOLSTER 629-4 Mountain Gun

I have a black Bianchi #5BHL for a 4 inch N-frame that I rescued from one of those gun show “box o’ holsters” for $X.00. I have cleaned it up and re-dyed it, and it seems solid with a good working thumb break.

I was looking for a Heavy Duty, but life has intervened. Since I won’t be using it, if you would like it, send me a message.

You nailed it. My N-frame 4" guns ride in the same holster.
