625-7 45 Colt Mountain Gun
The only 45 colt I ever owned was a Taurus Judge. It was neat for a while but I lost interest in it and traded it for something else.
After a while I decided I wanted another Colt 45 caliber gun and started looking around. I saw a S&W 625 and decided that is what I wanted.
Well, they aren't easy to find! And the couple I have seen were really out of my price range.
Until today.
I stopped in at a local pawnshop and this was in the case for $650. I offered $600 and they said yes!

Congrats on a great purchase. That was a really good price. I bought my .45 Colt Mountain Gun, a 625-6, when they were first introduced in 1996, and it is one of my favorite revolvers.

Congrats! Great price on that gun. They usually go for close to a grand in that condition. Let us know how it shoots - and thanks for the post.

Yeah! Nice job! I bought one new in '99 as well, unfortunately I ended up swapping it for a 1006. I miss that gun, a lot! Don't let go of it, even though you make $300-$400. I promise you'll regret it.
Congratulations! Pawn shop can hold some treasures.

Nice find!
In the Reno area I’ve seen em going for $1000-$1250. When I found mine last year there were 2 on the table, a -7 and -6, both $1250 NIB. I ended up leaving with a smile and the -6 for $1000.

I hope you bought them dinner and gave them a kiss before you did what you did.

I change grips more often than I do my socks. Currently both my Mountain Gun/Revolver are wearing Ahrends.

Nice find. I have one, can't remember the dash. Really like it. My favorite S&W chambered in 45 Colt. I also have a 625 Classic in 45 Colt and while I'm a sucker for 5 inch barrels I like the Mountain Gun better.
Hope you enjoy yours.

Congratulations on the great find! I enjoy my 25-15 in 45Colt. Have a 625 JM in 45ACP. Both are among my favorites. Bob

Picked up one in Jan.. Don't care too much for light loads in 45 Colt cases.
l prefer 45 Schofield cases/loads/ammo... Kinda like shooting 44specials in a 44mag.
Pleasant and very accurate. Try em and see!!

Mine is a dash 6 which has a different (old style) cylinder stop, and I would not sell mine for less than $1250. I have the box and it has only been fired a few times. In my humble opinion you got an incredible deal and it was obvious that the seller either bought it for nothing or had no idea what he had.

I finally got this gun to the range. After replacing the stocks with a a set of Altamonts and I had to change the black front sight, my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.
The first cylinder I shot was 3" high so I adjusted the rear sights.
I mistakenly raised the sights one turn on the screw and the screw fell out! I didn't have the right tools with me so went back home to fix my booboo.
Easy fix and back to the range a couple days later.
I love this revolver! Shoots great and feels great!
