After realizing my wife would not feel comfortable with the very hard trigger pull on the new 351 PD, I got advice to buy the Apex J Frame kit and did. Of course there was a good youtube video on installation and so I was able to put it in. Major difference, now a very normal pull, shoots great, will become her carry gun soon after a day at the range. She is 71 and slight of build so a gun with less recoil is what she needed. The 22 magnum with Hornady critical defense will serve her well.
I still am puzzled as to why S&W makes the pull almost unbelievably heavy.

Rimfire guns need heavier springs for reliable functioning with "rimfire ammo". Make sure that gun will still give 100% reliable function, NO misfires, operation before you allow your wife to trust her life to it.

The geometry of the trigger parts in a J frame also add to the heavy trigger pull , combine that with the force needed to reliably set off rimfire's it all adds up.
If you run into reliability issues , take it to a good gunsmith that can do a proper reliable trigger job .
