Observation: Smith & Wesson Governor Proponents Correlate With...
I couldn't help but notice with several exceptions, most advocates of the Governor have a low posting volume on this forum.
Don't get me wrong I love mine but could not help but notice this interesting disparity.
I have posted the last dedicated Governor thread for your review.
Thoughts?

First of all, I will never understand why certain folks feel the need to incessantly argue over firearms and their effectiveness. Why not just carry what you feel confident with and let others carry what they're confident with?
Seriously, I've seen these arguments play out ad nauseam and they never reach any meaningful conclusion, nor do they ever seem to begin or end with legitimate concern for the well-being of others, but rather as an argument made for the sake of having an argument.
Folks don't have to like .45/.410 Revolvers like the Judge/Governor/BFR/etc, nor do they have to agree with the decisions of others who choose to use them for self-defense, and they aren't necessarily wrong in believing that there are better options for self-defense, but I think that the fact that such revolvers have remained on the market for over a decade now goes to show that many people like them for a wide variety of reasons, so arguing against their use after all this time is as pointless as it is presumptuous.
Lastly, I would assume that the reason why some folks who like the Governor aren't regular posters is most likely due to the fact that they are made to feel unwelcome when their enthusiasm for a new firearm they purchased is met with undue criticism/cynicism.

What does 'post count' have to do with one's taste in firearms?

This is an observation, that's all no debate here. Just wish to seek your all's perspective.

@GulfEcho:
I belong to about 6 other forums, and I am certain that my post count on the 1911 and Glock forums is well under 100 posts! When I visit those forums, it is because I am looking for information. I hang on the Smith forum because of the variety of sub forums and the friendliness I have discovered here. I have a higher post count here because I feel that I have something to contribute.

Most people I know that have this style of gun, really are not gun people. Most of them, it's their only gun, or it's one of just a couple, and they dont shoot them much.
I would think it would be safe to say, for gun people that shoot a lot, and have vast collection and variety of firearms, this style gun is not high on their want list.

A friend of mine bought one last year to accompany him on his farm in rural Mississippi. His wife hates snakes and the Governor fits the bill.
My friend is a seasoned hunter and with the property acquisition is shooting more and more. The Governor is versatile when it comes to ammo. .410 shotgun shells, .45 Long Colt with regular bullets or snake shot loads and .45 ACP. He can find some type of ammo that will work in the area where his farm is and he has put it to use on several occasions.
No, it would't be my first choice for a PD revolver but, I sure wouldn't be my last choice either. His example is very nice and shows that S&W can still turn out quality fire arms. I personally like the Governor and appreciate it for its intended use.

Perhaps if you flesh out your question a little more, you'll get better reponses.

Perhaps you should clarify just what it is that you're driving at or what conclusion you hope to reach as a result of this exercise?
It would seem as though you have some sort of hypothesis in regards to a correlation between those who post little and express approval towards the Governor.
If what you're driving at is the all too common assertion that only those inexperienced with firearms have any interest in the Governor and other such Revolvers, then I can safely tell you based on personal experience that such is not the case. If anything, the reverse is true, that those who are inexperienced with firearms are more likely to turn their nose up at the Governor because folks who are inexperienced with firearms tend to base their choices in self-defense firearms on that which the Military or Law Enforcement carries, and is more likely to overlook the versatility that such a firearm offers.
If anything, most folks who buy the Governor or other such firearms are one of the above.
- Outdoorsman. Folks who enjoy hiking in the woods or on wilderness trails who can spot the obvious versatility of a firearm which can fire a wide away of ammo for multiple purposes. (.410 Birdshot for Snakes, .410 Buckshot for midsize predatory animals like Coyotes/Wolves, and .45 Long Colt for larger animals like Bears, possibly even .410 Flares should the need arise.)
- Recreational Shooters. Folks who can spot the obvious entertainment value of shooting a Revolver which can shoot .45s and .410 Shotshells alike.
- Folks seeking a versatile firearm in general. Due to the wide array of ammunition the Governor can fire, it can serve in a variety of roles. (Home Defense, Vehicle Defense, Wilderness Defense, fun at the range, etc.) It may not be the best option, but the versatility is hard to overlook. Kind of like a Swiss Army Knife, albeit on a smaller scale.
At any rate, you will most likely receive better answers if you explain the purpose of this exercise, because then folks wouldn't have to question it or misunderstand it, they could simply confirm or deny whatever it is you're thinking or otherwise seeking to prove.
