Would like to hear from those who have tried these and which height sight did you use.

I don’t have a 69 yet but I do have a red on my 617-6 , green on a 629-4 and a -6 . I contacted S&W customer service via email to get the factory height which I wanted to stay with and kept my factory rear square notch . I like the hi vis sights and have a 317, 63, and a 329 thatcame with hi vis and v notched rear sight .

A lot is going to depend on the load(s) you plan on using. In addition, different guns will print a bit differently (both elev and windage). Each individual shooter grips the gun differently impacting point of impact.

I would wait until I got the gun in hand, go the range with the load you will most often use and see where it prints. Then go to Dawson Precision and use their front sight calculator to figure out what height front sight you need.

Looks like HiViz currently only catalogs a .269" FO front for S&Ws (other than 617s or J Frames which are much shorter). The factory front on the M69 is appox .270" to .280".

You might want to consider Dawson Precision -- they offer a lot more options for height and width. Dawson Precision S&W Pinned Fiber Optic Front Sights - Dawson Precision, Inc.

Green Fiber Optic is always the first and last visiable at dawn and dusk on my bow.

I put a .305" front on my 2014 vintage M69 but it has a higher rear blade than the current versions. Just looked at the 4 1/4" with the "new" lower rear blade and there is room for adjustment with the .270/.280 front sight sighted in with standard 240 gr .44 Magnum ammo. So, the .269 HiViz front might be ok.

I'd still wait to shoot the gun with the intended load as mentioned above.

Here is a target I shot with my 2014 vintage 4 1/4" M69. This is with S&W red ramp front that came with the gun and the "old" higher rear sight blade. 25 yds rested with rear sight bottomed out. Only shot two of each load to minimize recoil fatigue and reduce target clutter.
