19-5 date?
Hi guys,
Recently picked up a 19-5 2.5", S/N AAT3xxx. Just wondering when it was made. No box or anything. Not sure about keeping the Pachmayr's, but they'll work for now.
Thanks in advance!

I just looked in SCSW #4 and 1983 showed AAM,AAP,AAS,AAW prefixs. 1984 had an AAU and 1985 showed an AAV No AAT's were listed anywhere. My best guess would be 1983 but with S&W you just never know.

AAT here, too
I have AAT 46xx, a 2 1/2” 19-5. Absolutely love this gun! There is something truly awe-inspiring that happens when I touch off a .357 in this baby. I find the recoil robust, but very manageable. It came with original service grips, and I added a Tyler-T. Fits my fat hand just fine, and is still very concealable. I find this set-up to work great, for me, and see no reason to put Goodyears on it.
As far as ship date, best guess, would be 1983 (as already stated, book doesn’t list AAT). Maybe someone with a letter of authenticity or a correct box and end label, in the AAT range, can shed some light.

I shattered my right elbow in 1987. Although it doesn't hurt like it used to, shooting full-house magnums is a bit unpleasant :-(
I ran 6 Federal 125 JHP's through it last week and that was enough....lol

Those weren’t pleasant, when I ran them through my 686-6 6”.
Have not tried them in my 19.
158 SWC seem just fine.
