If box and docs, you have an unpopular but rare gun and I expect a collector would pay north of $700. If you have a fitted 22 LR cylinder, so much the better. The 22 mag in a short barrel is very loud and generally not that accurate. I had a 650 3” that was cool to look at but loud and inaccurate. Sold it and never wanted another....

I was wondering how rare it was in the short barrel. Just don’t see many of them. I do have original box and papers also.

I can't help you with value or production figures, but I do have a suggestion for you. I also have a 650 3" and yes it is very loud! But, mine is also very accurate! I just solved my problem with the purchase of Winchester 45gr Subsonic which are made in Australia. They are not cheap, but convert your offensive kit gun into a manageable and pleasant woods walking companion. I think if you try a box, you will understand why you bought that 651 to start!

I think your 651 might be worth north of $1000 with the box/papers. The box probably shows product code 103900 and according to the S&W Standard Catalog there were only 1241 two inch guns made. I've never seen a two inch and understand the comments about the muzzle blast and noise but I think there are folks who would pay quite a bit to get one. I sold a four inch last year, no box/papers, for $900. Good luck.

I have a 650 3". Everyone always talks about the noise, but I don't think it's any worse than shooting a 36 3".

Plus is has practically zero recoil.

Just wear your ear protectors and it will be just like any of your centerfire snubs.

The noise issue is way over emphasized, IMHO.

A little flash and fire just makes it more fun to shoot.

I agree with $1000 plus plus. I don't believe I've seen one for sale before. If it were me, I'd hang on to it and enjoy using for it's intended purpose. JMHO.

103900 is the production code. I have not shot it yet but plan to soon. Thanks for all the info. If I wanted to sell it seems like it might sell fast.

A few years ago I tried to buy one.
My offer was rejected and the seller made fun of me!
I offered $1,200.
