Default Gun Show Jackpot

So many naysayers about gun shows and the lack of bargains - balderdash! You just have to sort through a lot of chaff to find that one kernel of wheat.

Was at the Oaks, PA gun show on 8/5. Small dealer had an interesting, short-barreled N-frame in his display case. Something looked "off" about it - which is why it probably hadn't been sold (and it had a bargain price tag on it). I realized that someone had put K/L-frame target grips on this N-frame. I didn't buy it then and there, but went home did some research and made an offer (-$60 and he keeps the grips) on Monday. Consummated the deal on Tuesday and just picked it up last night. Here is number 63 of 250: a blue, Model 25-14...

Those are Altamont bonded ivory magna grips with a BK adapter.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Nice piece. Would prefer target grips if it was mine. But my burning question is: Is that allowed in NJ, seems as if nothing else is allowed there.

Those remake 5 screws throwback guns never did take off like people thought they would or they should. Good guns, just not highly desirable with the key lock. Depending on what you paid determines if you got a bargain or not. We may never know. Its a real bargain if you ever needed to use it,, that's for sure.

I love 45acp revolvers. Congratulations you have a real beauty there. I think 3 1/2 is the sweet spot on nframe carry revolvers.

Very nice gun show find. If you call Lew Horton they will send you a letter to document your 25-14. This is what they sent me about my 29-10. Enjoy.
Edit: I tried to rotate the pic but am challenged when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Bob, can you take a look at your rifling and if its traditional broche cut or ECM? Mine is broche cut which I thought was odd since these guns were made well into the ECM rifling process.

Appears to be broach-cut. These were part of the "Classic" series so possibly built in the PC where they use broach-cut rifling.

@John Fugate - I'd tell you how much, but I may want to sell it to you someday and I need to maximize my profit. LOL

Adios,

Pizza Bob
