Default Help with manufacture date 686-0
Could someone please give me a manufacture date for a 686-0 nickel revolver I just purchased. Serial number is AJY5xxx.
Thanks..... it's a beauty with box and unopened tools. The guy shot 1 cylinder and put it away. Was $780 a good price?

A 686 is stainless not nickel. The 586 is the same gun in blue or nickel.

You are correct, it's a 586-0.

If you have the box with intact end label then you have a far more accurate date than we can look up in a resource-- it's in Julian form under "Spec Ordr".

First number is the year and last three digits are which specific day of 365.
