Here's the Model 64 that was given to me. The BPD stampings are nowhere as nice as the engraving on that Colt but again, the price was right.

This one is interesting; it has scratches and dings everywhere but it locks up tight and the timing is perfect. It also was dirty as hell.

Just finished cleaning it and installing the combat trigger ($15 on eBay, dropped right in!) and doing a mild action job so now she's ready for the range!

Ex-Victoria Police (Australia) S&W Mdl 10-11, round butt, with new VZ G-10 grips added, purchased for $319 in 2015. A great shooting revolver and a gem in the rough.

In my neck of the woods MPD was Manchester Police Department.
I dont think your M65 is related though. I owned a 10-6 that was theirs and it was one of the most accurate handguns that I ever owned. Wish I still had it.

Does a Army Colonel who was Provost Marshal count?

Here is my grandfathers Highway Patrolman. The Army didn't issue these, nor did they have the leather, but as a full bird, I guess that he got special consideration. The leather shown is my addition, he had a black basket weave stamped holster made for him by one of the brig's residents. The stags are also my addition, but I do have the numbered diamond magna stocks safely tucked away.

Late to the discussion. Began my LE career in 1976 (retired now) and we carried nickel Model 10's with 4" barrel (department issue). We had to buy our own off duty weapon. The agency revolvers were not marked. The department later went to Glocks.

Here is a picture of my Model 64 2" that I bought in 1976 for off duty. For a number of years I looked for a nickel Model 10 like the one I carried back in the day. Found this 1979 nickel Model 10-7 at a small regional collectors show two years ago. Likely a police trade-in. It had a few dings on it typical of a police revolver.

The triggers on my 65-1 and 681 are stellar with the edge going to the 65-1.

I have six S&W Model 10's..a 10-5 (3 in heavy barrel), a 10-8, 3 10-10's, and 1 10-11 (all 4 in heavy barrels), covering from 1967 to 1999. That makes one in every bedroom in the house.

Only allowed me to upload 5 of the 6

I have a few old NYPD police revolvers. I bought them new from the NYPD equipment section, I guess I'm old. I'm going to take a nap now.

Of course I do! All three of these could be classified as Police Revolvers, but the one in the middle is the only one I actually carried on duty.

Here's another MSHP 50th Anniversary gun. Unlike the Model 66 I posted last month, there's no box. However, there is a badge number on the left side. I think that meant the Trooper used it as official "back up". Could be wrong on that.

These aren't easy to come by and they're not cheap. I feel fortunate to have found them even if one is "only" shooter grade.

The 66 I have has a badge number too. I've thought about trying to track the Trooper or family down and seeing if they want it back at what would be a very fair price.

A call or email to General Headquarters in Jefferson City may put you on the right path to finding that Trooper. They likely won't give you his info but may consider reaching out to him with yours.

I don't work for the patrol but if I were looking for his info ..... I'd start there. Good idea and maybe he or his family would be grateful to have it.

That is the quintessential "Cop-Gun" Les. I too have found that Magna's and a Tyler-T is the best grip combo on any revolver I've ever shot and carried. Last night I finally put the Tyler mail order form with a check in the mail after a month of trying to source an "N" frame grip after trying to source it from anywhere else without the wait time. Ugh, I wish someone would make an aluminum high quality comparable product with a decent finish en mass and readily available.

Be careful. This is the same attitude held by anti-gunners and FUDDS. Remember...a gun is an inanimate object. It only becomes a "killing machine" in the hands of a killer.

Alright, enough of these beautiful "Cop-Gun's" as I've spent enough money this week!

Seriously though, that's a 3" heavy barrel correct? Those look so sexy and appear as it would balance so well it reminds me of the natural pointability of a Commander 4.25" 1911...

I bought this Detective Special from a retired Ohio State Trooper that carried it in an ankle holster for years. You can see the "love" in the gun's patina. I kinda like to call it character.

I started out my LEO career in 1977 with a 6” S&W Model 28:

I later switched to a 4” Model 28 as it was easier to carry. I had mine re-blued and upgraded the sights and added a target trigger and target hammer to it:

In 1980, I transferred to the local Sheriff’s Office and was issued a S&W Model 15:
