Got a FedEx notice that it should be hear Friday and called S&W to find out repair details.
They replaced the barrel for the 2nd time trying to get a good even and hopefully tighter gap.
Replaced the trigger hand and replaced the sight.
I hope they took a look at the slow cylinder lock up timing too!
A full review after I receive it and shoot some rounds through it
after Florence leaves our area! My range property may take a while to dry out!!
Hope they got it right this time. Got my fingers crossed for ya. I finally took my new 69 to the range yesterday and put 150 trouble free rounds through it. Took several “clicks” up on the sight to get it dialed in. Tried several different reload recipes but wasn’t real happy with any of them, good excuse for more experimentation. Fun revolver to shoot, even my Glock loving son enjoyed it.

What loads were you using and how did your barrel look after shooting cast lead if you did?

Almost all was 240 gr Xtreme jacketed. I had loads of 7.5 and 9 gr W231, 9 and 10 gr Unique, and 13 gr Accurate #5. Someone else advised me to shoot a couple hundred rounds of jacketed first before going with cast. I had bad leading issues on a new 629 a while back with coated cast bullets so I thought I'd run the jacketed first. The problem could have been with the bullets themselves, I've shot a couple hundred jacketed through the 629 since with no issues whatsoever. I've ordered another brand of coated to try, but haven't loaded any yet. I'm kinda new at reloading and still trying to figure some things out.
