Default M-69 snub

Groo here
Got my M-69 back from the trigger doctor and went to the range.
I had first shot it with a light 200gr plated load to "check it out"
Had an action job, and installed a set of Pachmyre grips.[can't shoot wood S&W's]
So this time I tried some Magtec 240 gr jsp factory .
Thanks to the Pachs I made it through 10 rds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gun shoots to point of aim but I need to work up to the big stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have away from the big stuff too long,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,...

Consider Diamond Pros. They helped me with the 69.

I feel a 200 gr bullet with 8.5 gr 231 from a 69 snub recoils like it's smaller brother 66-8 with 357 factory loads. It hits steel with authority but it's not extremely loud and doesn't give me flinchitis.

So far the 69 has functioned perfectly. It's accurate as all get out.

I have owned my M69 4.2" for about 4yrs. I bought it mainly as a Dedicated 44spl, but the Recoil from full power Magnum Loads is no worse than my 3" 629, and quite Managable. The only mod that I did on my 69 was to install a Lighter Rebound Spring which Made the Trigger Pull Perfect. If I still Woods Walked, the M69 would be my Weapon of Choice.

I have the 2.75" version. I like it a lot. I put the small Hogue Bantam Boot grip on mine. It works very well for me, surprisingly, as they are pretty minimal. They're also cheap so you might want to give them a try. It's a cheap gamble. The grips make AIWB easier.

I used to carry a 3" HB M36 loaded w/ factory 200 gr. LRN, I think from W-W.

Real thumpers!

I put the S&W X-frame Hogues on my 2.75" Model 69. They fit my larger mitts well and really help mitigate recoil. On another note, I really like how this gun feels in the hand. I already have a 4" 629 so I didn't really think I needed the 4.2" Model 69, but I can tell that the extra 1-1/2" barrel would really balance the whole gun out.

I chronographed my fun to shoot range load.

200 gr cast bullet
8.5 gr 231 (not endorsing this as the best powder, just using up a bottle I have on hand)

5 shots from 2.75' averaged 950 fps.
