Default ANSWERING QUESTIONS ON 3" M629

A WHILE BACK A FORUM MEMBER WAS COMPILING A LIST TO WHICH I ADDED THE 3" M629 PICTURED BELOW.......

I CAN'T RETRIEVE THE THREAD, BUT I'LL PROVIDE WHAT INFO I HAVE, WITH THE HOPE THAT IT WILL BE READ BY THE INTERESTED PARTY....

THE REVOLVER IS A M629-1, SERIAL #AWD01xx......

ACCORDING TO THE STANDARD CATALOG, ITS A "COMBAT MAGNUM". THE PRODUCT CODE IS 103610. THE SPECIAL ORDER CODE IS AT7141.......

5,000 WERE MANUFACTURED IN 1985. 3,000 WERE SENT TO LEW HORTON FOR DISTRIBUTION. THE REMAINING 2,000 WERE DISTRIBUTED BY S&W. MY REVOLVER WAS ONE OF THOSE 2,000.......

Beautiful example. I have a blued version, the M29 made in 85' for Lew Horton Distribution.

I WOULD BET THAT THEY ARE ALL GREAT SHOOTERS. THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL SET OF COMBATS.....

MASSAD AYOOB HAS OPINED, THAT FINGER GROOVED GRIPS ONLY FIT 10% OF THE SHOOTING POPULATION. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM NOT ONE OF THEM. I LOVE THEIR TACTI-COOL LOOK, BUT THEY JUST DON'T WORK FOR ME......

I SOLD THEM OFF, TO HELP FINANCE THE SAMBAR STAGS AND TYLER-T, THAT MY REVOLVER WORE.......

NOT SURPRISINGLY, EVEN BACK IN THE DAY, I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A LONG WAIT FOR MY TYLER-T TO ARRIVE, WHEN MY HISTORICAL LETTER SHOWED UP, AND I SHOT THE ABOVE PIC.....

SOME THINGS JUST NEVER CHANGE......lol

I'm blessed to be in that 10% with the combats fitting my hands. In fact, they are the only grips on a revolver that I've not changed outright or augmented with Tyler-T's.

And the wait time and not being able to directly order with a credit card on the Tyler site is starting to get real stupid IMO. To print out an order form and then snail mail it in with your CC# on it in this day and age is beyond retarded! 1977' was a great year and is a time when that kind of Sears and Roebuck catalogue ordering was acceptable. I'll get them from Robertsontradingpost on GA from now on! Too bad they won't have any "N" frame "Tyler-T'" until December.
