I was excited to find and purchase this 686 no dash CS1 revolver 4" barrel with the original box. I have done my research on the CS revolvers and have tried to read everything I can about them. The gun is in good condition. Timing and lock up are good. Has light handling marks only but does look like it was shot. I brought it home and took it apart to do a good cleaning on everything. I have never seen the Floating Hand until this revolver. At first I thought the hand was broken.
Then realized that it was the infamous Floating Hand. I have read that a regular hand can be put in place by punching out the floating hand stud on the trigger. Is this something that I should have done to this gun if the timing and action are functioning properly like they are? My second question is I was thinking of replacing all the internal springs and the main spring since the gun has been used and it is 31yrs. old. Do you guys recommend this to be done to an older gun like this? Thank you as always for your input. I appreciate your time.
