Default Model 60 with Unfluted Cylinder Value?

Picked up this Model 60-3 with an unfluted cylinder. Smith a Catalog 4th edition says there were 500 made in 1989 for Mich. Police Supply. Serial number is in right time frame BDD0863. This one is very clean. Locks up as tight as any J frame I have ever seen. I’ve never seen one before I found this one. Any significant value?

There are over 26 variations of the Mod 60, a lot of them commeratives with special features. The SCSW4 lists ANIB = 600, Exc = 500, and VG = 400. With a 500 gun issue with those features I would "Guesstimate" about a 25% premium. So a gun in Excellent condition would bring about $625. Again, this is a "Guesstimate", an in any particular auction it might be somewhat more or less.

Appearance, if you care for that look, and a little extra weight. Also the fact that there aren't many like it.

I don't know of any other advantages.

Isn't the unfluted cylinder model 60 used in The Da Vinci Code? I think it was mentioned in a TYM YouTube video.

I would call it a niche collector's item; probably worth a little more to a serious model 60 seeker of every type and subtype of them.

More area to engrave! I’ve seen them engrave or etched
