Model 60 no dash info help
Hi all
A friend asked for info.
What are the marks in the pics?
What year did it ship?
Thank you for taking the time.

My Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson book doesn't specifically list the "ABR" prefix, but does have several other "AB_" prefixes around it. This indicates to me an approximate year of 1983 or 1984 for the year of your Model 60.
Any other numbers or marks are irrelevant/unknown to me.

Thanks for looking up ship date.
I have never seen the stamp inside near the model 60 mark.
But it a be typical.

32547 is an assembly number; you’ll probably see it on the lower right side of the grip frame. The others are inspector or fitter marks.

My ABH98XX has, from top to bottom, 14XX2 and then a larger S oriented with the length of the frame and then a very light B16 (I think) under the s and oriented the same as the first numbers. I never paid them any attention before. I'm guessing mine is a 1983 ship as I think that's when I bought it.
